No regrets is a book about an ex footballer whose life took a turn when something happened on the soccer field that was televised and reached headlines at the time.
This is the remarkable journey of someone who always stood up for what he believed was right and sometimes suffered for it. Written as a collection of memoirs, it captures Gora's devotion to family, community, and a brand of people-centred leadership that has made him a role model in all his spheres of influence.
The book has 3 main themes; triumph, tragedy and faith.
1st Concept:
The 3 themes in the book influenced the initial concept of the design process by playing on different expressions of the author which would symbolize the themes that the author journeyed through in his life. The author also wanted to play with the color purple. We explored with different lightings in a studio photoshoot.

In the 2nd concept of the book cover design we retook some photographs of the author. The selected photograph is strong in body language and the gaze of the author's eyes is looking ahead and slightly above, symbolizing that he is at the point in life now where his past has made him the man he is today and not regretting where it has lead him.
The play on incorporating the football stadium in the background symbolizes that football was a huge part of the authors journey and from the moment that his incident happened on the field, did his life really steer, shift and redirect.
